KORJAAMO CULTURE FACTORY

www.korjaamo.fi

is a place where people and culture come together in the heart of Helsinki, whether it’s for theatre, visual arts, clubbing, or meeting up over a coffee or beer

Situated in the old tram depot, Korjaamo is made up of galleries, a café, bar, club space, a theatre, shop, and even the Tram Museum is still here. Since the Vaunuhalli was opened in the summer of 2008, Korjaamo is now the biggest cultural centre in the country.

Korjaamo also co-operates with other European cultural centres and is part of the European network of independent cultural centres, Trans Europe Halles, making it a window to contemporary culture in other European cities.

The Factory rents its unique spaces for events and offers their production expertise to artists showcasing their work. Korjaamo is also a place for work. Inside the old tram depot operates an office hotel - host to a number of creative businesses and freelancers.

Korjaamo will participate in the planning of the Educational Programme in Theatre, Touring and Festival Management which is part of the Learning & Sharing strand of activities in Seeds of Imagination.
