13.11.2009 •  Presentation of Finnish Children Opera at Big Break Festival in Moscow

Project leader Helena Meloni (Seeds of Imagination) and Board of Directors´ Chairwoman (Music Theatre Kapsäkki) Lotta Kuusisto were participating as speakers at Big Break International Festival of Theatre for Children on November 5th in Moscow at a conference called “Theatre for the Early Days”. The other speakers were Roberto Frabetti from Italy, Marina Kornakova from Russia and Anne Nǿjgaard from Denmark. The conference was organized with the support of ASSITEJ Russia, Theatre Union of Russian Federation and the Institute of Finland in Saint-Petersburg. In his introductory Artistic Director Edward Boyakov said that in Russia there are hardly any examples of theatre for children in the age group 3-4 years and under, while in many European countries it is already an existing tradition. Roberto Frabetti´s Teatro Testoni Ragazzi has been working with the youngest spectators already for 20 years in Bologna. The Finnish example is also awakening much interest, and next year´s Big Break Festival will hopefully be focusing on Finnish children theatre.
